Awaiting, a poem by Gobinda Biswas

Awaiting
Gobinda Biswas

I will wait for hundreds of years
With throbbing heart, O Adams and Eves,
For my drear dreams to be fulfilled
For my sisters and brothers for pleasure and peace.
I will wait to see the whole world
As a single nation in the true sense,
We will be Worldians and nothing else
Just like a joint family with no fence.
I will wait till the very day
When we will get all the necessaries,
No one will cry for want of anything
Among us there shall be truly no ridge.
I will wait until all the violences end
From every nook and corner of this planet,
No child, no parent, no brother, no sister
Over the deceased body will ever lament.
I will wait for those happy days
While all the people from all villages and towns,
Will travel everywhere and mix with one another
And stand beside all in ups and downs.
O God, I will continue to pray to you
Round the clock in sacred body and mind,
Till I’m converted into prayers within and without
‘‘Have mercy upon us, you are so kind.’’
We all are your affectionate sons and daughters,
O God, I will wait before you in bended knees
Please, help us to remain in happiness and peace,
On seeing their crying, I always shed tears.
